In the wrong Spot?
Hey guys, these past weeks have been incredibly busy and so I really appreciate these quieter days now. You can read along and watch this weeks video to find out what I’ve been up to.
The Fountain of Life
How priceless is your unfailing love, O God! People take refuge in the shadow of your wings. They feast in the abundance of your house; you give them drink from your river of delights. For with you is the fountain of life; in your light we see light. [Psalm 36:7-9, NIV]
I read this passage of Scripture a couple of days ago in my daily bible reading and was amazed! God gives us out of His abundance. When we’re with God, our biggest needs will be met. He let’s us be part of His ‘house of abundance’ and pours out joy over us. Let me speak that over you today. Don’t try to fill yourself with work, acceptance or distraction. Let yourself be filled by God’s table, in His presence.
Missionary of the week
The evangelical alliance in Rosbach has a missions week each year and invites a ‘missionary of the week’ to that. This year, it was me. So from Tuesday til Sunday, I was able to in the beautiful area of Windeck and visited three confirmation classes, ran four kids programs and went to two small groups. Usually in the mornings, they also go to religion classes in schools, but it was cancelled due to Covid. So I used the mornings to spend time with people. I visited a friend in Aachen, spend time with my host family, had breakfast with the youth pastor and drove out to my relatives in Solingen. As you can see: I was pretty busy.
Overall it was a very blessed time! In the beginning, I was very insecure, as specially in the kids programs, as this is just not my comfort zone. I felt like I was in the wrong spot. But by the end I could really see that the kids got something out of what I said and I knew that God wanted me here. Thank you for your prayers. I ask you to pray specifically for the kids programs on Friday and they in particular went really well. Prayer is so powerful, thank you!
Saying good bye
As I said, I was able to visit a lot of friends. So I went to Lake Constance, Heidelberg, Koblenz and Aachen in two weeks. And slowly but surely I realize that my time in Germany comes to an end. From now on, it’s only three months until I’m planning to go to Africa … how crazy is that! Every time I meet up with people, I’m thinking in the back of my mind that this could be the ‘last’ time we see each other. And that’s really challenging me and I’d love you to pray for that. But still, I’m super excited for Africa and extremely thankful for Social Media and the ability to stay in contact.
Missions evening
I shared in a lot of churches about my work by now, but not in my home church, my sending church … This Tuesday, I was finally able to do a missions evening in my church. It’s been a great time with 35 people and another 30 or so were watching the livestream. Thank you for your time and support!
If you weren’t able to be there, but wanna hear more about my work, you can watch the recording online. Here is the link to the video:
Outlook
My upcoming weeks are pretty laid back. Not empty, but thankfully not as busy and stressful as in the past. So: If you would wanna invite me, April would be the time to do it. May is pretty much full already … I’m excited for a video project I launch in my church (stay tuned), to be able to read and for some quality time with my family around Easter.
With this being said, thank you so much for all your support, all your prayers and all your giving! This wouldn’t be possible without you! God bless you,
